Have you considered what would happen if you became incapable of making decisions for yourself?
No one likes to think about losing the ability to manage their own affairs including handling a bank account, claiming benefits, looking after their tax affairs or transacting a house sale.
In the present ecomonic climate and for peace of mind it is more important than ever that you make Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) to nominate someone you trust now to make important decisions on your behalf in the future. LPAs are often left too late and you cannot make an LPA if you are no longer able to make decisions for yourself.
Did you know that even a joint building society or bank account may be frozen if ONE of the account holders lacks mental capacity and there is no LPA in place, and recent newspaper articles have highlighted the plight of residents in care homes being uprooted from the home they love and dispatched, like a parcel, to unfamiliar new addresses, this may be avoided if the correct LPA is in place.
Steele Rose & Co are chosen each month by hundreds of new clients who prefer the firm's dedicated yet unstuffy approach.
Your local Legal Consultant will visit you in the comfort and privacy of your home to take your instructions for an LPA throughout England and Wales and then return for the completion formalities, making the whole process clear and straightforward.
The complete home visit service fee is only £250* per LPA (if you have at least two) or £299* (if you have one). This includes certification, witnessing, all notifications, appointment of attorneys, court exemption/ remission applications and the completion of all other LPA related documentation that we submit to the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) for registration on your behalf.
Please contact us on FREEPHONE 0800 0352 781 (during our office hours) or complete the form on our Contact Us page and click 'Submit' for further information or to make an appointment. We will call you back as soon as possible.
There are two different types of Lasting Power of Attorney available:-
- Property and Financial Affairs LPA that looks after all your property, financial assets, pensions and investments etc.
- Health and Welfare LPA that covers all aspects of your healthcare and personal welfare including controlling where you may live, medical adminstration and life sustaining treatment should you ever require care.
Anyone who wishes to appoint someone to look after their affairs if they become unable should make an LPA, the use of a professional adviser who is prepared to visit clients at their home for face to face discussion is essential in order to avoid mistakes and ensure the LPAs are acceptable for the courts who will promptly return incorrectly completed documents. Steele Rose & Co have over 7 years of experience in dealing with LPA completion, furthermore an OPG customer services representative recently quoted our work as 'The best and most accurate LPA applications that we receive'.
* Fees quoted exclude vat, there may be a additional disbursements payable to the OPG.
